Police seek suspect in bank robberies in Bethesda, Rockville

Montgomery County are searching for a man they say is responsible for two bank robberies this week, including one at a grocery store in Rockville.

Police have obtained surveillance photos of the suspect and they are asking the public for information that can help identify the man.

The suspect is described as about 30- to 40-years old, about 5-feet-9 and about 180 pounds.

Shortly before 10 a.m. Thursday, the suspect robbed a PNC bank at 102011 Old Georgetown Road in Bethesday. He was wearing a Redskins scarf, a black hat and tan boots.

On Monday, police said the suspect robbed the bank inside the Giant Food store at 12051 Rockville Pike. In that case he wore a gray scarf, red jacket, dark-colored hat and sunglasses.

Detectives are asking anyone with information about these robberies or the suspect involved to call Crime Solvers of Montgomery County toll-free at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477) or leave a Crime Solvers tip here.

Crime Solvers will pay a cash reward of up to $10,000 for information provided to them that leads to an arrest and/or indictment for this felony crime.  Tipsters will remain anonymous.

PNC Bank is also offering an additional reward of $5,000 for the arrest and conviction of the suspect.
