Law enforcement authorities searching for a missing Virginia police reservists have found a body, but have not confirmed that it is the missing officer.

Virginia State Police told the Associated Press that the body was found Thursday in a remote area along the Fluvanna and Goochland counties line about halfway between Richmond and Charlottesville. Police are attempting to identify the body.

The discovery comes a day after the announcement of the arrest of three siblings in connection with the disappearance of 45-year-old Kevin Quick, a captain in the Waynesboro Police Department’s police reserve unit, who has been missing since Friday.

Police say 20-year-old Mersadies Shelton and 18-year-old Daniel Mathis were arrested in Alexandria Tuesday evening without incident. They are charged with one count of grand larceny in the theft of Quick’s SUV.

Another sister, Shantai Shelton, 24, was taken into custody on an outstanding warrant in Louisa County.

The siblings are all from Albermale County. Other charges are likely, police said.
