Body found in burned out trailer

Prince George’s County fire and police officials are investigating the discovery of a body found inside a burning trailer home.

At about 5 p.m. Tuesday, authorities received 911 call from a neighbor who found the burned out shell of a trailer in a remote section of the 18100 block of Horesehead Road in Brandywine.

Prince George's County fireThe trailer is used as a home and normally occupied by a man believed to be in his 70s.

Fire officials arrived to find an deceased individual inside the shell of the home.  The fire appeared to have occurred Monday night or earlier Tuesday morning and had gone unreported until later that day.  The incident scene is located in a rural area and is in a remote location.

Fire investigators and police homicide detectives worked through the night investigating the scene. The deceased individuals age and gender could not be identified.  An autopsy by will be required in order to make a positive identification.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.  Fire loss is estimated at $5,000.
