After grabbing about $20,000 from the tellers at the PNC Bank, 390 Main Street, the man spilled the stacks of cash onto the floor. He scrambled to pick up the money, then used an upside umbrella as a bag to collect the cash.

NBC4 obtained a copy of the surveillance footage.

Officers spotted the man driving off in a green minivan, and chased the vehicle into Howard County, where police-deployed ‘stop sticks’ punctuated two of the tires, Laurel police said. The man got out of the car but slipped on a patch of ice, police said.

Police said the suspect, Robert C. Williams, 42, was arrested and charged with the robbery and numerous traffic offenses.
