Prince George’s County law enforcement authorities arrested nearly 60 people as part of a sweep that focused on domestic-violence-related warrants.

The Prince George’s County Sheriff’s Office, along with the Maryland State Police and the U.S. Marshals Task Force, spread out to more than 150 address around the county and in the District of Columbia as part of “Operation Broken Heart.

The operation, which began in the late hours of Tuesday night and concluded in the early Wednesday, was comprised of seven teams.

“The focus of this operation was domestic violence warrants,” said Captain William Mints, assistant bureau chief of field operations. “Of the 58 arrests, 33 were for domestic violence-related crimes, a result we are certainly pleased with because the Office of the Sheriff is a committed partner in the fight against domestic violence.”
