D.C. man arrested in the stabbing death of 17-year-old

District of Columbia police have arrested a 24-year-old man in the stabbing death of D.C. teen.

Jibril Abdul-Muwwakil, of Southeast Washington, has been charged with second-degree murder in the stabbing death of 17-year-old Jonathan Adams, of Southwest Washington.

Adams was found shortly after 5 p.m. Thursday in the 4300 bock of Halley Terrace Southeast suffering from an apparent stab wound. He was taken to a hospital for treatment where he died from his injuries.

D.C. homicide detectives arrested Abdul-Muwwakil Friday afternoon.

It was the first of two killings Thursday. Less than three hours later, a female victim was shot and killed in the 3600 block of Jay Street Northeast. She was taken to a hospital where she died, police said. Police have identified the victim as 19-year-old Tykia Dickerson of Southeast Washington.

The Metropolitan Police Department is offering a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons wanted for either homicide.
