40-year-old man killed in single vehicle crash

A 40-year-old man was killed when his car crashed into a traffic pole on the D.C.-Maryland border.

At around 7:45 a.m. Sunday, a Prince George’s County police officer came across a crashed green 2005 Volvo S80 at the intersection of Eastern Avenue and Sargent Road NE, police said.

The officer found the driver still inside of the vehicle.  The driver was taken to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.

The decedent has been identified as 40-year-old Robert Charles Beasley of Northeast, DC.

This crash remains under investigation.
