Both drivers were taken to a hospital, where Hernandez died from his injuries. The other driver is expected to survive.

Preliminary, it appears that Hernandez, of Lanham, failed to yield to the other car before turning, police said. Investigators are looking into whether speed also played a role in the crash.

Anyone with information on this collision is asked to call the Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit at (301) 306-5640.
